Population and Location
Located 10 minutes to the north of New Haven,
and central to many commercial sectors in new Haven County, Hamden is

its own.
Recreation
With two public golf courses, four tennis court
areas, public swimming pools and 18 municipal parks, Hamden offers
much for the weekend warrior. Home to Sleeping Giant State Park, the
Hamden Parks and Recreation Council sponsors many programs in
athletics as well. Other public areas include West Rock Ridge State
Park, Naugatuck State Forest, East Rock Park and Brooksvale Park,
totally more than 3,000 acres.
